SALARY:
The salary range for this position is $47,065.
28 to $74,187.
38 for Schedule A, and $47,065.
28 to $66,414.
38 for Schedule B.
For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.
For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.
Judiciary employees hired prior to August 20, 2014, are considered Schedule A.
Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 20, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

This position is open to Judiciary employees Statewide The Morris/Sussex Vicinage is looking for a self-managing and creative thinking leader with strong interpersonal skills who can teach others and apply technology to tasks for a Judiciary Clerk 4 position in the Criminal Division in the Sussex County Superior Courthouse.
Under the general direction of the Court Executives 2B (Criminal Division Manager) and other supervisory personnel, the selected individual will be responsible for examining documents for adherence to applicable procedures, laws and regulations, reviewing orders for accuracy and compliance with court rules and policy, calendaring and conferring with supervisory staff to ensure that timelines and program requirements for individual cases are met and scheduled accordingly while ensuring compliance with court rules and policy.
The selected candidate will have the ability to apply statutes, court rules, case law or policies; accurately review a high volume of documents within a short period of time; appropriately assign and schedule court proceedings per the Judge's assignment; assist and train co-workers with assignments in case management techniques and computer applications as a lead worker; demonstrate the ability to multi-task from one assignment to another to ensure divisional needs are met; request, print, analyze various case management reports pertaining to motions and data entry to ensure support functions.
These functions will include, but are not limited to operating audio and video recording systems, maintaining a detailed log of in-court activities, marking exhibits, swearing in witnesses and instruct jurors regarding selection process and conduct of the trial, and other duties as necessary.
Although this position is based at the Sussex County Superior Courthouse (Newton, NJ) travel to the Morris County Judicial Center (Morristown, NJ) and other judiciary locations may be required.
REMOTE WORK:
The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings.
To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Eligibility is based upon the applicants having achieved all the competencies for advancement to Judiciary Clerk 4 as listed on the Career Progression Eligibility Form for this title.
Applicants for advancement to the Judiciary Clerk 4 title are not required to take a New Jersey Civil Service Commission promotional examination.
Experience Requirement:
Three years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following:
document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Supplemental Information Physical Ability:
For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching.
The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Driver's License:
Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work:
US citizenship is not required.
Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
