Chief Operating Officer

Overview
Atlantic Health System has an opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer for the AHS Western Region - comprising of Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center. The COO will report to the President of AHS Western Region and act as a key member of the Western Region executive team, responsible for its overall day-to-day operations and policies. This candidate will help to assure that both the organization?s strategic goals and operating plans are achieved while also assuring that the site specific objectives for financial effectiveness are met.
Responsibilities
+ Reports to the Region President with dotted lines to both CNOs.
+ Responsible for the following areas at both Western Region hospitals. Direct responsibilities include Emergency Services, ACU/Observation Units, Bed Management, Radiology, Respiratory and Transport. Dual reports are: Facilities, Plant Engineering, Bio Med, Security, and other corporate functions.
+ Collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chief Nursing Officers (CNO), and other AHS Directors on matters of patient care, quality, service, hospital performance, and community relations.
+ Collaborate with the Region?s Chief Financial Officer on matters related to budgeting, financial performance, revenue cycle, and capital resource allocation.
+ Collaboration with leaders of the Atlantic Health System?s corporate and Service Line staff including: Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopedics, Neuroscience, Pediatrics and Women?s Health; and, information systems, finance, Human Resources, strategic planning, physician relations, and quality to ensure that objectives are met.
Qualifications
+ Demonstrate a considerable record of successful leadership and line management accomplishments for key clinical and ancillary service departments within a tertiary care setting recognized for high standards of quality and innovation.
+ Track record in process improvement (any success in IHI improvements would be particularly valuable) as well as capabilities in using CQI principles to bring about positive change in a multi-site hospital and multi-specialty group environment _._
+ Strong quantitative (business) and analytical skills in a fast paced environment are essential.
+ Record of developing new programs and implementing new initiatives.
+ History of developing and maintaining collaborative relationships among diverse groups of Board members, senior executives, medical staff, administrative peers, and external stakeholders.
+ Articulate operational goals, strategies, and accomplishments in a persuasive manner, yet be adaptable and flexible in the face of changing operations in order to address the greater organizational challenges.
Educational Requirements:
+ Advanced degree required. Clinical credentials a plus.
+ Masters required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
